About us:

We are the Allied Health squad in Central Queensland, and we're all about helping people bounce back, feel better, and live their best lives. Backed by our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy, we team up with doctors, nurses, tech whizzes, and community partners to deliver care that truly matters.

Our Gladstone crew is made up of six awesome professions: Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology, and Social Work (supported by our superstar Allied Health Assistants!). Together, we provide generalist services with big impact, a dash of innovation, and plenty of heart.

About the role:

As an Allied Health Assistant in our Banana Team, you're the behind-the-scenes hero making patient care happen smoothly, efficiently, and with a personal touch. You'll work under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals, diving into a varied caseload across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

You'll help with assessments, treatments, and patient education, and even lead group sessions alongside professionals. You'll keep patient records in tip-top shape, support your team in meetings and projects, and make sure clinical areas and equipment are ready to go. Mentor newer assistants, contribute to quality improvement initiatives and keep everything running like a well-oiled machine.

About you:

  • Bonus Points: While not a must, having a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or something similar would totally make you stand out!
  • Knowledge is Power: You've got a good handle on the healthcare system, medical terminology, basic anatomy, and feel comfortable using computers. Basically, you speak the language of health!

  • Always Improving: You love finding ways to make things better and contribute to quality improvement activities.
