About us:

Mareeba Hospital services a local population of approximately 10,500 people, and provides a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. The facility has an overnight capacity of 52 beds, including 12 maternity beds, as well as supporting clinical and diagnostic services such as allied health, medical imaging, pharmacy, and pathology.
The Mareeba region features local attractions such as mountain bike riding, various wineries, and several coffee plantations, and is a short drive away from other scenic towns in the Atherton Tablelands region.

About you:

In your new role you will:

  • Prioritise, receipt, track, retrieve and manage patient medical records both paper and electronically for all clinical units across the hospital campus.
  • Ensure security of patient information with reference to the National Privacy Principles.
  • Batch scanning and validating patient documentation into ieMR (integrated electronic medical record), with a high level of attention to detail to ensure a quality patient record.
  • Perform general duties related to maintenance and care of patient records and the Kofax information system used to scan these files.
  • Support clinical business units with their medical record requirements.
  • Generate scanning and data maintenance reports through the ieMR to help facilitate with error corrections.
  • Uploading of electronic files from other information systems directly into the ieMR.
  • Administer release of information in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and statutory requirements. This includes mid-level interpretation and communication of patient information contained within the medical record and other hospital information systems to authorised external enquirers.
