About Us:
The Mareeba Maternity Unit cares for around 300 women per year from the surrounding communities of Mareeba, Dimbulah, Kuranda and Chillagoe areas. Around 200 of these women birth at Mareeba Hospital and the others receive shared care with Cairns Hospital or other Tertiary Hospitals.
About You:
In this position you will:
- Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
- Influence and promote high standards of clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the Maternity Service and work in collaboration with the Nurse/Midwifery Unit Manager to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Promote cooperation, teamwork and understanding in undertaking generalist and/or specialist nursing/midwifery practices for effective health outcomes.
- Practice collaboratively and provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary health care team to promote safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups.
