About the role
Allied Health Clinicians on care delivery and service development initiatives to promote improved health outcomes and health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and their families/carers. Deliver education within Community and Oral Health (COH) on psychosocial and clinical Social Work matters, with a focus on increasing staff knowledge and understanding of the cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver high level Social Work clinical services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and their families/carers in community and subacute settings in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
- Exercise independent professional clinical judgement in providing Social Work clinical and consultation services of a complex nature where principles, procedures, techniques or methods require expansion, adaptation or modification, without the need for direct regular clinical practice supervision.
- Contribute to clinical research activities within the Social Work team and across COH.
- Apply professional knowledge of relevant resources and legislation impacting on community, in relation to intergenerational trauma, and including specialised knowledge of mental health, housing and income support systems, statutory processes and domestic and family violence.
