About the Team
CHQ Pharmacy is dedicated to providing and supporting high quality clinical and medication management services to the children and young people of CHQ. The pharmacy service has a staff of approximately 110, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, administrative staff and support staff. The pharmacy team provides services to inpatients, outpatients, hospital in the home, cancer care services, poisons information, aseptic compounding, clinical trials along with safety, quality and governance. The Queensland Poisons Information Service is part of CHQ Pharmacy and provides 24 hour a day emergency service in cases of poisoning.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Provide a defined range of clinical support tasks for patients relating to components of the medicines management cycle, in line with professional standards with appropriate training, supervision and competency assessments.
- Assist with medication orders and prescription preparation including iPharmacy dispensing and use of cancer care and other compounding electronic systems as well as management of electronic medication profiles and other clinical documentation from admission to discharge. This includes compliance with the Guidelines for Good Dispensing and PBS business rules.
- Conduct inventory management including ordering, receiving, storage, distribution and stocktake of medicines.
