About the role

This is a senior executive leadership role responsible for shaping the direction, performance and future capability of Allied Health services across one of Queensland's most significant rehabilitation and surgical facilities. This role leads the strategic, professional and operational oversight of a large, multi‑disciplinary Allied Health workforce, ensuring services are delivered safely, sustainably and in line with contemporary best practice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team solve large-scale, complex, clinical service or work-flow problems through recognised expertise, high-level interpretation of existing health service systems, professional standards and other pertinent external considerations.
  • Provide expert advice and advocacy regarding AH services and professional governance to the STARS executive to inform integrated, collaborative organisational strategic planning and decision making.
  • Lead a cohesive AH team, be a strong advocate for AH, communicate a clear vision for STARSAH professions and influence the design, delivery and improvement of models of team-based care that improve outcomes for
  • Accountable for the clinical and operational governance of AH clinical services, in collaboration with the broader multi-professional team, and in alignment with strategic organisational
  • Collaborate with STARS AH discipline directors in the management of the workforce: staff recruitment, orientation, professional development and supervision, succession and workforce planning, performance management and clinical competency to ensure safe and high-quality clinical
