About the role
The Senior Psychologist delivers specialist psychological care to adults experiencing moderate to severe and enduring eating disorders. Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, this position provides advanced assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention across individual and group treatment settings, with practice grounded in trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented and evidence‑based frameworks.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), deliver contemporary high-level and culturally safe clinical psychology services that are based on valid and reliable evidence, are in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, and performed with a high degree of independence.
- Provide evidence-based outpatient treatment for adults with eating disorders and their families for example Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Enhanced (CBT-E), MANTRA, CBT for ARFID (CBT-AR) and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM).
- Provide high-level state-wide consultation and clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team, operational managers, public and private clinicians in either community or inpatient settings, to assist them to undertake assessment and management of patients with eating disorders and to provide support to their families and carers. This includes contributing to the development of treatment and discharge plans and prioritising and developing service provision to ensure optimal health outcomes for consumers.
- Provide clinical leadership and participate in the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of quality, service improvement and/or research activities that enhance the delivery of clinical services and eating disorder practices. Develop procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care, improve consumer care and contribute to the development of an innovative state-wide eating disorders service.
