Your new role:
Join a highly specialised team delivering critical tissue donation and recovery services that directly support life-saving and life-enhancing procedures. In this hands-on clinical role, you'll contribute to donor assessment, tissue recovery, and processing activities, working within strict regulatory frameworks and best-practice standards.
You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders and play an important role in ensuring safe, ethical, and high-quality tissue banking services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform donor assessment, screening, and consent processes
- Undertake tissue recovery using surgical and aseptic techniques
- Support tissue processing, storage, and distribution activities
- Maintain accurate clinical records and database information
- Ensure equipment, consumables, and sterile supplies are prepared
The Queensland Tissue Bank works with cadaveric and non-cadaveric tissue donors of all ages. Roles that do not have direct responsibilities associated with these functions are likely to be exposed to discussions and/or requests to support elements of this work.
About you:
You are a resilient and compassionate clinical professional with strong technical capability and a commitment to ethical practice. You thrive in structured, high-responsibility environments and are confident working both independently and within a team.
You will bring:
- A relevant degree in medical science, applied science, or similar
- Strong communication skills, including supporting bereaved families
- Ability to perform clinical procedures using aseptic techniques
- Sound problem-solving skills and clinical judgement
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols

About us:
Queensland Tissue Bank (QTB) is Queensland's sole facility for the provision of donated human tissues for therapeutic use. QTB performs all stages of tissue procurement including donor identification, screening and consent; and all stages of tissue preparation including retrieval, processing, storage, despatch, and quality management. Banked tissues include bone, skin, eye, and heart valves. Of the Australian states, Queensland has the largest tissue bank and provides therapeutic tissue products for both local and interstate use. QTB plays a part in informing both state and national policy on tissue banking.
