We're excited to welcome an Environmental Health Officer to the Environmental Health team.

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver environmental health services that protect and promote human health while preventing risks to the community from environmental hazards affecting both the natural and built environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering Queensland Health legislation related to public health;
  • Engaging with industry stakeholders and the public regarding relevant legislation; and
  • Leading or participating in investigations into public health matters.
  • Utilise environmental health knowledge, skills, and principles appropriate to your level of experience to support the effective delivery of services, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of environmental health programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations and enforce public health legislation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current best practices in regulatory compliance and investigation.
  • Interpret public health legislation, standards, and guidelines, and provide clear, informed advice to industry stakeholders and the community.

Remuneration value up to $132,567 p.a., comprising salary between $79,051 - $116,189 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (One Permanent full time, 76 hrs p.f. and Two Fixed Term Temporary full time, 76 hrs p.f. positions for up to 12 months) .  Applications will remain current for 12 months.
