About the work unit / facility

The Physiotherapy Department at Townsville University Hospital sits within the Allied Health Services Division and is led by a physiotherapist. The service provides care across the continuum, including inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary settings, and operates a 24‑hour service through an on‑call and weekend roster.

Physiotherapists work across a wide range of clinical areas, including intensive care, acute medical and surgical, musculoskeletal, rehabilitation, oncology, rural facilities, women's and children's health, and community services. Junior staff have the opportunity to rotate through multiple clinical areas and benefit from strong clinical support within the current departmental structure.

  • Base salary range: $144,991 to $151,289 p.a. (HP5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity

Deliver specialised, contemporary physiotherapy services in acute stroke and across multiple medical specialties at Townsville University Hospital. You will provide clinical leadership and oversight to the acute medical physiotherapy team, coordinating service delivery and supporting the development and maintenance of clinical excellence and high standards of care.

You will also provide specialist clinical advice on acute medical physiotherapy to clinicians, service managers and healthcare consumers across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service, contributing to cross‑disciplinary planning, delivery and evaluation of acute medical services.

Requirements

Possession of a physiotherapy qualification from a recognised tertiary institution and current registration, or eligibility for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
