Your new role:

In this role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health assessment, intervention and care across acute, emergency and community settings within Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services.

  • Manage a clinical caseload, providing assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team using evidence-based practice
  • Deliver care across Acute Care Teams, Emergency Mental Health services and community settings, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting
  • Apply sound clinical judgement with increasing independence under the guidance of senior clinicians
  • Contribute to service delivery through effective time management, teamwork and adherence to clinical protocols, safety and quality standards

 

About you:

You are a capable and motivated mental health clinician who is committed to delivering safe, person-centred care and contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.

  • Qualified Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with relevant registration/eligibility and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and care in mental health settings, including acute or emergency environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with consumers, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service improvement and team initiatives

About us:

Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS) delivers a broad range of specialist addiction and mental health services within the Metro South catchment. These include community-based ambulatory and residential services, acute care services in the community, psychiatric rehabilitation, consultation-liaison to hospital wards and emergency departments and addiction services. We provide inpatient services at the Princess Alexandra, Logan and Redland Hospitals. We deliver the state-wide Deafness and Mental Health and Queensland Transcultural Mental Health Services and house the Queensland Postgraduate Psychiatry Training Unit.

Focusing on those in our region who are experiencing, or at risk of developing, severe and complex emotional, behavioural or mental health and/or substance use problems, our innovative services are provided by multidisciplinary teams with a broad mix of skills, knowledge and professional backgrounds who work across the life span, from children and adolescents to adult and older adults.

MSAMHS has been a leader in employing those with a lived experience of mental illness as well as partnering with nongovernmental organisations to provide our programmes.

Our service will continue to provide high quality addiction and mental health care across Metro South.
