About the role

This position offers a unique opportunity for an advanced clinical pharmacist to lead and shape pharmacy services within the Cardiology and Heart Support Service (HSS) at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH). Working within a large and highly regarded tertiary pharmacy service, the role delivers specialised clinical expertise across both outpatient and inpatient cardiology services, with a primary focus on outpatient care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Professionally lead the delivery of pharmacy services within the Cardiology/HSS environment, providing clinical advice to health practitioners to deliver an effective medication service.
  • Apply highly developed clinical knowledge and skills to the management of Pharmacy services for cardiology patients, in line with district and corporate imperatives, legislative requirements and organisational policy.
  • Provide high level advice and consultation in matters relating to pharmacy within the cardiology setting to relevant stakeholders
  • Establish relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders within RBWH Cardiology Department / Internal Medicine Service Line, including the Executive Directors, medical and nursing leaders and pharmacy directors/ assistant directors and team leaders.
  • Professionally and operationally lead and manage the pharmacy cardiology service for the RBWH in line with departmental priorities, including undertaking district planning in line with relevant legislation to deliver quality patient care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team and key stakeholders.
