About the role

The Senior Audiologist provides advanced, autonomous audiology services within STARS, supporting adults with complex hearing and balance needs across specialist rehabilitation and tertiary services. This role combines high-level clinical practice with leadership, service development, and education responsibilities.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver high level audiology clinical services within STARS including diagnostic assessment, rehabilitation, case management, record keeping and reporting in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with minimal direct clinical supervision.
  • Independently apply professional judgement and problem solving to a complex adult caseload and demonstrate the ability to adapt routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Provide timely, high level clinical advice to a range of health professionals, supervisors, managers and stakeholders, both internal and external to the HHS, regarding audiology management and service delivery in various clinical areas, including prioritisation and changes in clinical practice, equipment and technological advances.
  • Provide clinical direction and advice to the relevant service managers regarding service delivery, equipment, technology and the development and improvement of clinical services.
  • Take a leadership role in initiating, planning and evaluating local service quality improvement activities, evidence-based practice reviews and clinical research programs that enhance the delivery of audiological services and multidisciplinary care.
