📍 Location - Remote Torres and Cape Primary Health Care Centres | Multiple Positions Available
This role is not based in Cairns. These traineeship positions are located across remote communities throughout the Torres Strait and Cape York region. This means living and working in communities such as islands in the Torres Strait or remote Cape York locations.

About the traineeship
This traineeship is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members who want to build a future in health, even if you haven't worked in health before. You'll learn on the job with strong support from experienced staff, Elders, and community members needed to become an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.
As part of the role, you will enrol in a Certificate IV qualification. Queensland Health pays for your course fees and provides study leave to help you succeed. This is a chance to build skills, grow your confidence, and step into a role that supports your community.

Cultural requirement for this role
Under Section 25 of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), this position is an Identified role. It is a genuine occupational requirement that the successful applicant is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.

- Base salary between $65,082.00 - $74,360.00 per year Workplace benefits | Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service

- Generous leave entitlements, including 17.5% annual leave loading
