About us:
The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) provides a high quality of safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the immediate post-surgical phase of their perioperative journey.
Both highly skilled nurses and novice practitioners achieve this by working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide services that improve the health and wellbeing of the communities within the Cairns Hospital and Hinterland Health District (CHHHS).

About your role:
- Provide effective and efficient management of service in collaboration with the Nursing Director/Director of Nursing, clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate the provision of quality evidence-based care.
- Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate health services to achieve organisational goals.
- Use information systems and incorporate data to identify trends and facilitate patient flow across the service.
- Accountable for providing sound professional leadership in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of service programs in a defined practice area for groups and individuals with diverse requirements.
