About us:
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west. The Senior Pharmacist within the Emergency team provides leadership and high-level pharmacy service, with expertise in the area of management of patients who present to the Emergency Department, to a complex and varied workload, with a high degree of independence and initiative, to develop services and promote and maintain best practice care to patients. This role offers the opportunity to broaden your clinical expertise across a diverse caseload, including acute, subacute, and complex care presentations.
About your role:
- Deliver high level clinical Pharmacy services within the Emergency Medicine multidisciplinary team at the Cairns Hospital in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Provide expert clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding clinical Pharmacy services delivery.
- Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within the clinical service area and actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of clinical Pharmacy services.
