About us:
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west. The aim of the model is to provide multidisciplinary, culturally appropriate cancer survivorship care. A key priority of the model will be to co-design the model with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) and Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service (TCHHS), in collaboration with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. This position reports operationally to the Clinical Nurse Consultant, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit.
About you:
In your new role you will……
- Be self-directed and show initiative under the guidance of the Team Leader and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Cluster Coordinator as Professional Lead.
- Conduct clinical procedures including client screening, assessment, measurement, observations and treatment and deliver clinical care services to individuals, families and the community/group homes/Emergency Department/Hospital wards and Nursing Homes in accordance with health service policies and standards under direction of Registered Nurse / CNC.
- Clarify and educate clients on hospital/clinical community procedures and supporting patients with informed consent processes when required under direction of Registered Nurse.
