About the role
The Principal House Officer (PHO) contributes to the delivery of effective and equitable clinical services to Metro North patients under the supervision of senior medical staff. This non-training role focuses on providing patient care while developing clinical expertise, with an emphasis on candidates interested in pursuing a career in General Surgery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide clinical care of inpatient and outpatients (including in theatre), under the supervision of a Consultant and/or Registrar, as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, including ensuring continuity of care both within the Department and with external service providers.
- Supervise and assist with the training of junior staff and undergraduates.
