About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.
The Allied Health Service Cassowary Area is part of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. It encompasses three rural hospitals; Innisfail, Tully and Babinda and provides high quality Allied Health Services including Child Protection Liaison, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Dietetics and Speech Pathology.
About your role:
- Applying an expert level of knowledge/expertise, the position will develop and provide high level education and training to enhance child protection and early intervention frameworks for Queensland Health staff across the health service, including other government and non-government stakeholders.
- Provide a consultation liaison service for Queensland Health staff across Cassowary Hub and other child protection partners such as the Department of Child Safety and Queensland Police Service where child protection concerns/risk factors are identified.
- Provide quality leadership and strategic planning of child protection services within the Cassowary Hub with a key focus on contributing to the improvement of the safety, health, development and wellbeing of children and young people and their families.
