What your day could look like
As an Information Release Officer, you'll help ensure people receive the information they're entitled to, safely and respectfully. Your work supports patients, clinicians and external partners, strengthening trust, transparency and outcomes across our health service.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering accurate, timely information release decisions that protect privacy and support care
- Working closely with clinicians, legal teams and external agencies to resolve complex requests
- Applying legislation and policy with confidence, escalating matters when judgement is required
- Improving processes so information flows more efficiently and consistently across services
Let's Talk About You
You bring calm judgement, care and accountability to complex situations. You value doing the right thing and understand that every request represents a real person who deserves clarity, compassion and fairness. Beyond handling information, you help build trust and support safe, respectful care across the community.
Here's what will help you thrive:
- Experience managing sensitive information with accuracy and discretion
- Confidence applying legislation, policy or guidelines in a busy environment
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- Clear, respectful communication and a collaborative approach
You'll stand out if you bring experience from health, legal or government settings, or familiarity with clinical records or medical terminology.
Most importantly, you'll live the values of compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—protecting people's information and strengthening trust in our health service.
