What your day could look like
As a Senior Social Worker in Palliative Care, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients, families and clinical teams through some of life's most challenging transitions. From navigating complex psychosocial needs to strengthening person‑centred care, your work will create clarity, comfort and connection when it matters most. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll help ensure care is thoughtful, inclusive and grounded in dignity.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Supporting patients and families with advanced assessment, counselling and care planning that honours individual values and goals
- Guiding complex decisions by collaborating closely with medical, nursing and allied health colleagues
- Leading quality improvements that strengthen palliative care practice across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Providing professional leadership, supervision and advice that builds capability and confidence in others

- A recognised Social Work qualification with eligibility for professional membership
- Experience delivering complex, evidence‑based clinical social work services
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary settings
- Confidence providing leadership, supervision and service improvement support
You'll stand out if you bring postgraduate study, experience in palliative or healthcare settings, and a passion for developing others.
