As a Rural Social Worker, you'll play a meaningful role in supporting patients, families and communities across the Southern region to navigate complex health and life challenges. From providing trusted clinical support to collaborating across disciplines and locations, your work will help shape compassionate, accessible care where it's needed most.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering person‑centred social work that helps individuals and families feel heard, supported and empowered
- Working alongside clinicians, community partners and rural facilities to achieve holistic health outcomes
- Applying sound clinical judgement to a diverse caseload, with support when you need it
- Sharing ideas that strengthen service quality, rural access and continuity of care
Let's Talk About You
You bring both skill and heart to your work. You're reflective, grounded and motivated by making a positive difference in people's lives. You value connection, respect lived experience and feel proud knowing your work helps individuals and communities through vulnerable moments. You're not just here to provide a service—you're here to show compassion, act with integrity and create meaningful impact.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Qualification in Social Work with eligibility for professional membership
- Confidence delivering clinical services within a multidisciplinary environment
- Strong communication, collaboration and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with care, resilience and accountability
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in rural or regional settings and/or additional training in clinical, trauma‑informed or community practice.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, dignity, courage, integrity and a willingness to innovate—helping shape care that truly meets people where they are. Together, this role delivers outcomes that matter for individuals, communities and the future of regional health.
