Procurement Lead FFE/MME

Brisbane CBD

Queensland’s hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen. The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working for HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?

About the role

Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ) has created a new state‑wide function to lead and govern all Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FFE) and Major Medical Equipment (MME). This function sets the vision, standards and frameworks for FFE/MME, driving consistency, best practice and informed decision‑making across the health system.

The Procurement Lead FFE/MME oversees and leads the full end-to-end lifecycle of FFE and MME procurement for major health projects — from selection and negotiation to delivery and installation. The role ensures transparent, client‑focused procurement and helps deliver state‑of‑the‑art medical technology to Queensland's expanding hospital network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and lead interpretation of organisational goals to develop fit‑for‑purpose FFE/MME frameworks, standards and tools that drive consistency, efficiency and quality.

  • Lead strategically aligned FFE/MME procurement activities.

  • Oversee and deliver high‑quality FFE/MME procurement advice and services.

  • Provide expert guidance on FFE/MME planning and delivery across the full project lifecycle, from specification and procurement through commissioning and handover.

About you

  • Proven ability to confidently lead engagement with diverse stakeholders — including vendors, clinicians, and project/design teams — in complex, high‑pressure environments.

  • Strong experience leading project deliverables with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated capability to lead and innovate in procuring complex equipment for large‑scale health infrastructure.

  • Effective leadership skills to manage a team and multiple overlapping priorities while maintaining focus on key outcomes
