The Role 

As a TAFE Teacher in the Nursing Team, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

We have a  temporary, part-time (0.9 FTE) position available until 31 December 2026, based at our Caboolture and Redcliffe campuses.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary

The salary range for a Teacher Step 4 to Senior Teacher 3 holding the mandatory qualification requirements is $83,637.02 - $104,698.91 (gross) per annum, plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

 Mandatory Requirements 

Applicants must possess the following:

Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed:

  • Possession of Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent relevant qualification in education.
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse. 
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in the health and nursing industry is required.

Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:

  • TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools.
  • TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
  • TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor.
  • TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development.
  • TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor.
  • Higher level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided.
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s license.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly desirable 

  • High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems).
