Services provided are ambulatory and include Opioid Treatment Program, Long Acting Injectable treatments, counselling services, group therapy, ambulatory detox.

About the role
The Registered Nurse provides evidenced based individualised patient care. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in collaboration with individual clients and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve goals and health outcomes. This position is community based, appointed to the Alcohol and Other Drug Services and has an outreach function in the provision of direct clinical services – including medication administration within the Registered Nurse scope of Practice, as related to the Long Acting Injectable clinic.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of Alcohol and Other Drug Services in the community setting.
- Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Nurse when expert advice is required.
- Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
