The purpose of this role is to collect high-quality pathology specimens from patients and provide laboratory support services to ensure efficient and effective specimen collection and processing within the hospital environment.
What you'll do
In this role you will collect blood and non-blood specimens from patients, ensure correct patient identification and labelling, liaise with clinical staff and patients, perform general laboratory and operational duties, maintain stock and clean work areas, and support quality and accreditation requirements within the specimen collection service.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Has experience or the ability to perform phlebotomy procedures
- Can participate in rostered shifts including weekends if required
- Has knowledge of specimen collection protocols and safety practices
- Can work effectively both independently and in a team
