About the role
This is a highly specialised laboratory role supporting allogeneic and autologous haemopoietic progenitor cell transplantation and immunotherapy programs for adult and paediatric patients. You will work as part of Queensland's largest cellular therapy laboratory, contributing to life‑saving treatments delivered across RBWH and the Queensland Children's Hospital.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Develop and perform complex non-routine laboratory procedures in accordance with written and approved standard operating procedures involving the manipulation of haemopoietic progenitor cells for allogeneic and autologous transplantation and the production of cells for immunotherapy.
- Develop a high level of knowledge and expertise in the laboratory and clinical aspects of bone marrow transplantation and immunotherapy through active learning and by engaging in professional development activities.
- Work cooperatively
- Provide supervision, training and skill assessment in the performance of routine and complex standard operating procedures for scientific staff performing haemopoietic progenitor cell collection, testing, transportation, processing and infusion.
