Clinical Research Nurse, QSIS
South Brisbane
QSIS Research is seeking a motivated enthusiastic clinician interested in paediatric clinical research. This position will undertake project work related to large commercially sponsored vaccine trials with a focus on novel pneumococcal vaccines. There will also be the opportunity to assist with investigator led RSV research and quality improvement activities aiming to assess opportunistic vaccination in First Nations outpatients at QCH.

About the Team
The Queensland Specialist Immunisation Service (QSIS) is based at Queensland Children's Hospital and provides immunisation services to children and young people with complex medical and immunisation needs. The team of immunisation specialists includes senior medical, nursing, research and allied health staff.
QSIS research is led by the QSIS medical lead and a Nurse Researcher. It encompasses clinical research and quality improvement activities aiming to optimise vaccine safety, accessibility and equity, and trial new and novel products. Current projects focus on assessing current practice, vaccine safety surveillance, observational cohort trials and commercially and industry sponsored Phase 2 & 3 clinical trials. Nurses play a pivotal role in conceptualising, contributing to and leading this research.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.
You'll fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 6 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
Your contribution will include:
Research specific roles and responsibilities:
- Liaise with potential research collaborators and clinicians regarding the set up and running of research projects within the service.
- Assist in assessment of site feasibility for establishing research studies and clinical trials.
- Assist in the preparation of documents for ethics and Research Governance documents.
- Assist with the development and refinement of study material.
