Your new role:

As a Nurse Manager within the Division of Surgery, you will play a pivotal leadership role driving strategic initiatives, clinical excellence, and service improvement across a complex healthcare environment. Working closely with senior leaders, you will influence outcomes through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

You will:

  • Lead and deliver divisional projects and clinical redesign initiatives
  • Drive quality improvement, benchmarking, and patient outcome optimisation
  • Provide expert advice on resource management and service delivery
  • Support strategic and operational planning across the division
  • Lead change management and continuous improvement activities

About you:

You are an experienced and forward-thinking nursing leader with strong strategic, clinical, and operational expertise. You thrive in complex environments and are passionate about driving innovation and improving patient outcomes.

You bring:

  • Proven experience in senior nursing leadership or management roles
  • Strong clinical knowledge within surgical or acute care settings
  • Demonstrated success in leading change and service improvement
  • Advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in resource management, including workforce and finance

The Princess Alexandra Hospital is a major teaching and referral centre and one of the largest hospitals in Australia and one of the largest providers of surgical services in the country.  The surgical division incorporates peri-operative services, acute inpatient surgical units and surgical ambulatory care services.
