The role
The role will advise Queensland Health operational and delivery teams in relation to service strategy and service design. Playing a key role in managing the service portfolio, the Service Architect partners with Project and Service Delivery teams, Customer Relationship Managers and Commercial Strategy to shape the digital services mix in ways that are desirable, feasible and viable.
This is a transformational and strategic role that spans traditional business functions within eHealth and its Hospital and Health Service customers. Transformational change management, commercially orientated services leadership, communication and negotiation skills are essential. You will lead the implementation of services architectures focussing on, sustainability, transparency, efficiency, lean and agile principles, whilst maximising the services portfolio value to our customers.
Key responsibilities:
- In alignment with Queensland Health's strategy and operational drives, develop digital service strategies and related transitional roadmaps that help to guide the digital program of work and guide business and ICT related investment decisions
- Provide well-informed advice, over a range of topics influencing the effectiveness of the organisation's business and ICT systems to senior executives, program managers and solution architects on high risk, high value investment to ensure digital services meet Queensland Health's and the communities' requirements.
- Develop comprehensive strategic responses, briefs, submissions, presentations, reports and information papers to influence the development of service architecture and related project, digital planning and investment issues and decisions.
- Identify and assess new and emerging business and technology trends (including products, methods, and techniques) to determine the likely relevance for the organisation.

The skills and experience required to successfully perform within this role are:
- Proven experience in developing, contributing to and review architectural strategies, designs and roadmaps that meet the strategic requirements of the health system (SFIA Skill: STPL – Enterprise Architecture level 6)
- Ability to provide specialist advice relating to service architecture, influencing the broader architecture, ICT planning and any investment activities (SFIA Skill: CNSL – Consultancy level 5) (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
- Proven ability to develop and manage stakeholder relationships, facilitate open communication, and capture and disseminate information (SFIA Skill: RLMT – Stakeholder relationship management level 5) (NHS: Collaborative working)
- Proven ability to provide strategic direction that enables the delivery of sustainable, value for money, fit for purpose services and technologies that meet the business requirements of customers and service delivery (SKIA Skill: ITSP – Strategic Planning level 5)
- Demonstrated broad knowledge in current and emerging technologies, applications and “productization” of services and their life-cycle management (SFIA Skill: EMRG – Emerging technologies monitoring level 4, PROD – Product management level 4)
- Proven ability to drive the design and development of serviceblueprints and roadmaps within a large, diverse, and complex organisation by applying architectural frameworks such as ITIL,TOGAF, Zachman, COBIT, (SFIA Skill: ARCH – Solution Architect level 6)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology services in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others (SFIA Skill: CNSL – Consultancy level 5)
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded
