About Us:

Innisfail Hospital services include emergency department, general medical and surgical, low risk maternity (3 beds), chemotherapy (4 chairs), and renal dialysis (8 chairs). Innisfail Hospital has 49 inpatient beds and 7 emergency department treatment spaces. Beds include three high dependency unit beds and ten same day beds/bed alternatives.
The hospital serves a population of over 8000 people and is 1.5 hours' drive from Cairns. The Innisfail region is renowned for spectacular waterfalls, fishing, Mission Beach, the Family Islands, and World Heritage rainforest.
Emergency Department has an average of 48 presentations per day utilising integrated, multidisciplinary and quality health care that responds to the needs of the Innisfail community. 
About your opportunity:
  • Assist the NUM to implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
  • Act as a role model and provide clinical advice to the Registered Nurses whilst promoting high standards of clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in developing, evaluating, and updating clinical service procedures, protocols, standards, and guidelines.
  • Engage in incident reporting and investigation. Conduct and apply quality improvement frameworks and audits and develop risk minimisation strategies/activities to promote safe and/or rectify unsafe practice.
