The Social and Digital Media Officer is a member of the Social and Digital Media team who:

  • Identifies, plans, and develops positive, proactive, and reactive social and digital media strategies, campaigns, and content.
  • Manages and moderates Queensland Health owned social and digital media platforms, including the podcast, blog, e-newsletter and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Develops and implements the Department's social and digital media advertising strategy.

What you'll do:

As a Social and Digital Media Officer, you will be responsible for contributing to the monitoring, reviewing, analysing and reporting of data across all social and digital media channels, using different analytic tools to achieve continuous improvement against team objectives. You will identify and report on social media comment trends and knowledge gaps to help inform future content and provide assistance to the team, helping to create, develop and deliver digital media communications.

Other responsibiliites include:

Maintain awareness of emerging trends and challenges in the new media landscape and leverage this active learning to maximise opportunities and minimise risks for Queensland Health.
• Build and maintain knowledge of each of the account management areas, including their objectives, projects, opportunities and challenges.
• Adhere to and contribute to the development of frameworks, systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective operation of social and digital media platforms and products.

Role fit:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and strong written communication skills, to effectively communicate with Queensland Health's social media audiences, in line with a set style guide and tone of voice.
  • Knowledge of contemporary digital and social media communication platforms, practices and analytical skills, to forecast and identify trends and challenges in the new media landscape.
  • Experience using and interpreting analytics, such as Facebook Insights and Google Analytics, to track and assess the performance of social media channels and content, evaluating the results against key performance indicators and reporting them to management.

While not mandatory, tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing or journalism are highly desirable.
