About Your Role
As the Principal Advisor – Complex Discharge (Advanced Clinical), you will provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy across Metro South Health to improve outcomes for patients experiencing complex discharge barriers.
In this role, you will:
- Lead advanced clinical services and complex case management across the health service
- Act as the key expert for complex discharge pathways and long-stay patient flow
- Influence and develop clinical protocols, models of care, and service improvements
- Provide high-level consultancy to clinicians, executives, and external stakeholders
- Translate system-level challenges (e.g. aged care, NDIS, legal frameworks) into actionable solutions
- Mentor and support clinicians in managing complex and high-risk cases
- Drive innovation through research, data analysis, and evidence-based practice
- Represent Allied Health in internal and external committees and networks
About You
You are an experienced Allied Health professional with advanced clinical expertise and a passion for solving complex system challenges.
You will bring:
- Advanced clinical expertise in complex discharge and long-stay patient management
- Strong knowledge of aged care, NDIS, and relevant legal frameworks (e.g. QCAT)
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to lead change, influence practice, and implement innovative models of care
- Experience mentoring clinicians and building workforce capability
- High-level analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive service improvement
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical governance, protocol development, and research
- A commitment to patient-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care
