About us:

Our paediatric service cares for and treats children for a wide range of conditions, from newborns up to the age of 16 years. We offer a family friendly, safe and supportive environment for children and their families. 

We have a dedicated team of health professionals including doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals who are highly experienced in caring for sick children.

About the role:

  • The purpose of this role is to demonstrate nursing competence in the provision of nursing care to inpatients and outpatients whilst in the department.
  • Undertake clinical assessment and working with the inter-professional team to deliver holistic care patients and their families of the Central Queensland Health.
  • Respond appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the patient using comprehensive nursing assessment and intervention skills.
  • Integrate nursing and health care knowledge, skills, and attitude specific to interdisciplinary learning by supporting a learning environment and participating in learning activities/opportunities.
  • Provide and evaluates contemporary evidence-based nursing care in alignment with accepted standards CQ Health guidelines and policies.

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrates knowledge and effective integration of theory of practice.
  • Demonstrate agility to support nursing practice review, contribute to research and promote the use of evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement in care delivery to achieve the goal of continuous improvement of patient outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team with an ability to facilitate, promote and adapt to change.
  • Contribute to the use of evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement in care delivery to achieve the goal of continuous improvement of patient outcomes.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $100,942 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
