About us:
We provide acute care and management for older people (generally over 65) who have severe mental health disorders and require inpatient admission. The OPMHIU is located on the Rockhampton Hospital campus and comprises of 8 beds.
Join us as we step into the future of mental health care in Central Queensland. You'll be part of the team delivering care in the brand-new Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service, opening soon at Rockhampton Hospital.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering quality nursing care at an advanced level to consumers within the Older Persons Mental Health Inpatient Unit. The Clinical Nurse provides direction and support to other nursing staff while promoting professional standards of practice and conduct. The Clinical Nurse supports the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant with achieving the unit goals and standards.
The Clinical Nurse provides an early leadership role within the career pathway for nursing within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and is responsible for a specific patient population and can function in more complex situations while providing support and direction to the Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse and other non-registered nursing personnel. The Clinical Nurse follows defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, practice and services and workplaces.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory.
- A relevant qualification in Mental Health Nursing or current credentialing as a Mental Health Nurse through the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses is highly desirable.
- Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 or eligibility to apply for would be well regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, percept staff and contribute to professional nursing practice with confidence and integrity.
- Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
