We're excited to welcome a Registered Nurse to our Ready for Surgery Team.
Ready for Surgery Team (RfST) is a multidisciplinary healthcare unit within the SCHHS providing pre- anaesthetic health evaluation and patient optimisation, education, and information in preparation of the patient's elective surgery/procedure, at SCUH, NGH, and CHS.
RfST MoC is underpinned by the completion of a health questionnaire to allocate each patient to a pathway (RED, AMBER or GREEN). Patient pathway then dictates the intervention and investigation required to safely proceed to procedure/surgery.
Education, and guidance is provided via Face to Face, or virtual communication modes. The RfST plays a pivotal role within SCHHS in meeting the KPI's set out in ESIS, namely, Wait List Registration, Urgency Category Assignment, Ready for Surgery, Not Ready for Surgery, Wait List Management, Treat-in turn, Treat-in time and Pre-admission assessment.
