About the work unit / facility

The Townsville University Hospital Neonatal Unit provides a tertiary service for North Queensland, encompassing both medical and surgical care. The unit also provides a neonatal retrieval and transport service through the Advanced Neonatal Transport Service North Queensland (ANTS NQ).

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Base salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6, Band1)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)
  • Plus great salary packaging options to increase take-home pay

About your opportunity

The Clinical Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit works as a team leader and provides direct nursing care, clinical expertise, education and support to babies, families and nursing staff to ensure best practice and high quality patient care in a family centred environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA.
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, including participation in an on call roster.
  • Must obtain and maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment
  • Completion of Neonatal Specific Competencies is mandatory for nursing staff working within the Neonatal Unit.
