About Your Role
In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit (NMPDU), shaping the future of education and workforce development across Metro South Health.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage nursing and midwifery education services across Metro South Health
- Drive workforce capability through contemporary education strategies and lifelong learning models
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across a large, multi-site workforce
- Oversee governance, performance, and quality outcomes aligned to organisational priorities
- Lead service planning, workforce development, and education program delivery
About You
You are an experienced nursing or midwifery leader with a strong background in education, workforce development, and strategic service delivery.
You will bring:
- Extensive leadership experience in nursing/midwifery education and workforce development
- Strong strategic, operational, and financial management capability
- Expertise in clinical governance, quality improvement, and performance frameworks
- Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multi-site service delivery
- Advanced data analysis skills to inform decision-making and service improvement

Unit Profile
The Metro South Health (MSH) Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery (EDNM) Division provides overarching governance, leadership, strategic support and guidance for the Nursing and Midwifery professions across the health service. The nursing and midwifery team within the MSH EDNM Division supports the delivery of the MSH Nursing and Midwifery strategy and associated workforce priorities.
The Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit (NMPDU) within the MSH EDNM Division supports the delivery of MSH Nursing and Midwifery Education and associated workforce priorities. The NMPDU provides strategic and operational leadership and direction for driving educational efficiencies, supporting the nursing and midwifery professional streams to create a workforce that will meet demands of the future through contemporary undergraduate program, entry pathways, graduate programs, and lifelong learning models.
