About us:
Biloela Hospital is where big care meets small-town heart. We deliver everything from emergency and maternity to diagnostics and surgery and we're on track (hello, Destination 2030) to become the Banana region's go-to hub for high-quality healthcare. With Telehealth in our toolkit, we're making sure patients can access the care they need without the long road trips, because great care should always be within reach.
Our Allied Health crew? Think of it as the ultimate multidisciplinary dream team. You'll be working alongside legends in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology, and Social Work. It's collaborative, it's supportive, and there's always someone to bounce ideas off when things get complex.
Our team delivers targeted services in developmental paediatrics and cancer care, making a real difference where it matters most. Senior clinicians stay closely connected across the hospital and the wider Central Queensland Health network, so you're never working in a bubble – your voice carries, and your impact travels.
About the role:
As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you'll be part of a dynamic Allied Health team, delivering care across hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and the community. One day you're bedside, the next you're out and about in Moura, Theodore, or Baralaba keeping things fresh, varied and anything but boring.
Your caseload? Diverse, sometimes complex, and always meaningful. You'll flex your skills across the lifespan, with plenty of opportunities to lean into paediatrics if that's your jam. And when the moment calls for it, you'll jump into a transdisciplinary model (because great outcomes happen when everyone's speaking the same language!)
You'll lead from the front, shaping services, driving quality improvements, mentoring the next generation, and contributing to research and education. Be a go-to voice for Speech Pathology, advocating for the profession, collaborating with leaders, and influencing how care is delivered across the region. Whether you're supervising students, guiding junior clinicians, or navigating tricky conversations, your communication skills will truly shine.
About you:
- You've got the creds; a Speech Pathology degree (or equivalent) and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia. Bonus points if you're already certified.
- You know your stuff. You can assess, treat, and support clients of all ages across hospital, outpatient, and community settings.
- You're confident supervising students, junior clinicians, and support staff, helping them grow and thrive.
- You can zoom out and think big picture - contributing to plans, policies, KPIs, and service improvements alongside the Allied Health Team Leader.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
Additional Benefits:
- Ongoing Professional Development and Education Opportunities
- Flexible Work-Life Balance and Variety
- Generous Salary Sacrificing Options
- Paid Parental Leave
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
