Your new role:

As a Senior Pharmacist, you will play a key role in delivering expert clinical pharmacy services while supporting safe, high-quality patient care across multiple facilities by:

  • Providing advanced clinical pharmacy services including medication history taking, medication reviews and pharmaceutical care planning.
  • Using independent clinical judgement to manage complex patient caseloads and discharge medication reconciliation.
  • Delivering high-level advice to medical, nursing and allied health teams on medicines management and patient care.
  • Supervising pharmacists, interns, students and pharmacy support staff within the service.
  • Leading medication safety, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Contributing to education, research and service development across Logan-Beaudesert Health Service.
  • Participating in rotational rosters, overtime and on-call services as required.

About you:

You will be an experienced and motivated pharmacist who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment with:

  • Registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated high-level clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience in hospital settings.
  • Strong ability to manage complex clinical workloads and make sound professional decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven leadership capability in supervising, mentoring and developing others.
  • Experience in quality improvement, medication safety or research activities.
  • Flexibility to work across varying shifts and locations within Metro South Health.

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
