About us:
The Women and Newborn Unit is composed of Maternity and Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) with Extended Midwifery Services, and a Neonatal Nursery. The unit is women and family centred care, reflecting the needs of each woman within a safe and sustainable quality system. All women have access to evidenced based, culturally competent maternity care in a range of settings close to where they live. Appropriately trained and qualified maternity health professionals provide continuous or shared maternity care to women who meet the service capability of Gladstone Hospital.
About the role:
A Clinical Midwife (CM) is a Registered Midwife (RM) who is accountable at an advanced level for the coordination of clinical practice delivered in a clinical specialty. This position provides leadership and support to midwifery, nursing and medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality midwifery care, while working in collaboration with the line manager of the unit. This Clinical Midwife position is within the Maternity and Gynaecology ward, providing Midwifery care across the spectrum of Maternity Care, Ante-Natal Clinical (ANC), Birth Suite and Post Natal.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- A relevant Post Graduate qualification/s to the role would be highly regarded.
- Participate in clinical incident management, auditing requirements as per Australian National Healthcare Standards and Quality and Safety meetings.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the healthcare needs of maternity and neonatal areas.
- Demonstrated ability in leading a nursing/Midwifery team in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients and general public.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
