As the Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skills, you will work across both the Emergency and Inpatient Units, providing advanced, evidence-based, person-centred care under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse.

About us:

The Capricorn Coast Hospital is an integrated service which provides health care to the residents and visitors of the Capricorn Coast region, covering 11,651 sq. km stretching from the Byfield Forest in the north to Keppel Sands in the south including the main population centres of Yeppoon and Emu Park. The Emergency and Inpatient service provides Emergency department and short stay beds, Inpatient unit with 22 beds and Infusion Clinic Day service

About the role:

The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skills (ENAS) practices under predominantly indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN); utilising advanced clinical skills to provide evidence-based person-centred care based on the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Standards for Enrolled Nurses (EN's) within Capricorn Coast Hospital Emergency and Inpatient Units. The ENAS applies their depth of knowledge, experience, and competence to effectively develop, provide and evaluate patient care, with regular communication and/or assistance from the RN.

The ENAS practices at an advanced level, utilising clinical and leadership skills to provide high-quality person-centred care and optimise patient outcomes through clinical care, education, leadership and Quality and Safety. The ENAS seeks assistance and support in decision making from a Registered Nurse / Clinical Nurse / Nurse Practitioner.

About you:

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) / Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Whilst not mandatory, an Advanced Diploma of Nursing qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the provision of effective communication with members of the healthcare team, recipients of healthcare services, families and other agencies in collaboration with the Registered Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated adherence to established guidelines, protocols, procedures, standards and system of work.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $99,493 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.44 - $43.98 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
