About the opportunity  

The Information and Technology Services unit provides a range of services cross the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (Townsville HHS) encompassing ICT hardware and software technical support, server and storage hosting, solution design and governance for information systems, brokering new initiatives and/or system development, professional advice on ICT based projects, vendor engagement and hardware and software purchasing.

The role of the Information Systems Solution Analyst (ISSA) will be to provide expert advice and guidance to Townsville HHS stakeholders in the provisioning of new information systems or ICT initiatives including ongoing engagement with projects and project managers from concept phase to implementation and production handover.  A core component of the role is to engage and communicate with staff at all levels and disciplines across the organisation to ensure business requirements are articulated and translated into solutions that are fit for purpose and align with HHS and departmental quality and standards.

This is a temporary full-time position, up to 12 months.  PLEASE NOTE  - there is a possibility of an additional 12 months extension.

Role requirements

  • Whilst not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification in Information Management / Information Technology Services may be highly regarded.

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $4791.30 - $5132.30 p.f. (AO6)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • Locality allowance
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Strong communication skills including an exceptional ability to negotiate and influence effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and documenting complex functional business and clinical requirements (preferably within a large healthcare organisation).
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and translating analysis results into insightful, clear and succinct and high quality technical specifications and business requirements documentation.
  • Superior analytical, research, conceptual and problem solving skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including report writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements using; interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business processes descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Visio).
  • Self-motivation, drive and initiative in meeting deadlines while delivering results of the highest quality.
