About the opportunity  

Fellowship is based at Townsville University Hospital, located in regional North Queensland. Full spectrum of INR service was established in March 2022, which caters for North, Far North and West Queensland region. Primary aim of fellowship is to provide supervised experience in all aspects of Interventional Neuroradiology, including patient assessment and management, neuroradiological interpretation, clot retrieval and intracranial aneurysm treatment as part of a comprehensive Neurointerventional service.

The position is open to doctors who have completed postgraduate training in diagnostic radiology, neurosurgery, or neurology. The Fellow will be supervised by 3 neurointerventional specialists (two interventional neuroradiologists, and one endovascular neurosurgeon) during the period of fellowship. The emphasis of this position is on Interventional Neuro Radiology but includes continued exposure to other diagnostic imaging modalities, particularly Diagnostic Neuroradiology.

Please note This is a temporary full-time position, up to 12 months.  

Role requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Australian Medical Board – AHPRA.
  • Successful completion of the FRANZCR Part II examination, or equivalent.
  • This position may require undertaking rostered overtime and on-call duties.
  • Must hold a Radiation Use Licence from the Radiation Health Unit QLD.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis

  • Salary range: $5130.40 - $7189.50 p.f. (L4-L13)
