About us:
The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) provides high quality and safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the immediate post-surgical phase of their perioperative journey.
The Perioperative Department comprises of 11 Operating Theatres and 16 PACU bays. Future growth opportunities lie in the commissioning of a 12th Hybrid Theatre and the capacity to expand to 24 PACU bays.
The department supports the following Surgical Services for both adults and paediatric cases of varying complexity; Orthopaedics, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General, Vascular, ENT, FascioMaxilliary, Emergency, Trauma, Ophthalmology, Plastics and Reconstruction.

About your role:
- Adherence to the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice and the Australian College of Operating Room Nursing (ACORN) standards.
- Influence and promote high standards of clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation to promote effective team functioning.
- Promote cooperation, teamwork and understanding in undertaking generalist and/or specialist nursing practices for effective health outcomes.
