About the role
The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for delivering a confidential, efficient and accurate transcription service to support patients and clinicians across the outpatient areas of the Royal Brisbane and Women's and District Health Services. The role ensures the preparation and distribution of medical correspondence to patients, general practitioners, specialists and other healthcare professionals, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide accurate and timely transcription services for outpatient correspondence across a broad range of specialties, ensuring compliance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Use the Digital Dictation System efficiently and support continuous quality improvement activities within the transcription service.
- Possess advanced medical terminology with the ability to achieve a 95% accuracy rate.
- Ensure correspondence is processed, approved, and distributed within required timeframes, contributing to effective communication between patients, clinicians, and healthcare professionals.
