About us:

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is all about helping people stay living safely, happily, and independently in their own homes for as long as possible. It offers a wide range of practical, everyday support for older people, those living with a disability, and the carers who support them.

Whether it's a little help around the house, assistance with daily tasks, or services that keep people connected to their community, CHSP focuses on providing the right support at the right time, without unnecessary cost or complexity. The goal is simple: to help people maintain their independence and enjoy the best possible quality of life, without needing to move into residential care sooner than necessary.

In the Springsure region, CHSP proudly supports local residents as well as those in surrounding areas and the Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council community, making sure help is close to home when it's needed most.

About the role:

The CHSP Coordinator oversees the day-to-day management of the Springsure and Woorabinda CHSP services. The role ensures effective service delivery to clients, supports data collection and reporting in line with government requirements, and maintains systems that enable older people to remain living independently in the community.

You will ensure administrative systems run efficiently, contribute to service planning and quality improvement, and coordinate team workloads, rosters, and payroll processes. The role also involves managing correspondence, responding to enquiries, and supporting the Director of Nursing through research and issue resolution.

Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with clients, staff, and stakeholders while providing professional frontline support. You will also maintain databases, prepare reports (including financial reporting), and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes. The position requires sound judgement, the ability to work independently, and effective prioritisation of tasks. You will also support human resource functions, including staff performance, workplace health and safety, and compliance with relevant policies.

About you:

  • A qualification in Business Administration (or something similar) would be great but it's not essential.
  • You're confident managing the day-to-day business, admin, and operations of a busy service.
  • You bring integrity, initiative, and accountability to your work, handling sensitive information with care and providing reliable advice.
  • You're a natural leader who can guide, support, and grow a team (especially in a changing health service environment).
  • You're comfortable with technology, especially Microsoft Office and can quickly pick up new systems to get the job done efficiently.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $99,034 p.a is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $47.18 - $51.98 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Additional Benefits:

  • Ongoing Professional Development and Education Opportunities
  • Flexible Work-Life Balance and Variety
  • Generous Salary Sacrificing Options
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Discounted Private Health Insurance
  • Fitness Passport

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.

How to apply:

To apply, please submit the following:

  • Your current CV or resume, including referees.
  • A cover letter (1-2 pages) addressing how your experience, skills and values align with the key responsibilities and expectations outlined in the Role Description.
