About us:
The Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service is based in Yeppoon, a coastal town in Central Queensland, Australia. Yeppoon is renowned for its beaches, tropical climate, and the islands out on the bay. Twenty-five minutes from the city of Rockhampton, Yeppoon is the principal town on theCapricorn Coast, a string of seaside communities stretching more than 150 kilometres from north to south, in which approximately 25,000 people live.
About the role:
The Principal House Officer (Generalist) provides high quality inpatient and outpatient medical services to the Capricorn Coast Hospital, to ensure 24-hour coverage under the direction of Senior Medical staff. The facility is accredited for ACRRM training and Principal House Officers (PHOs) will be actively supported through training requirements. Opportunities to utilise or gain Advanced Skills are significant across the heath service.
- Support the provision of a high-quality medical service under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Director of Medical Services, and Senior Medical Staff.
- Development of skills and knowledge in the theoretical and clinical aspects of management of emergency and general medicine patients.
- Participate in clinical meetings, continual professional improvement, and medical education.
- Ensure and review the quality of patient care by participation in clinical audits and quality programs.
- Maintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the health service and with local medical practitioners to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the hospital.
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) is mandatory for this position.
- Hold current General Registration with AHPRA is mandatory.
- While not mandatory a minimum of two (2) years practice within the Australian healthcare system would be preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical experience and skills in General and Emergency Medicine for the provision of clinical services to the Capricorn Coast Health Facility at Principal House Officer level.
- An understanding of the importance of quality, safety, and risk in a healthcare environment.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $169,083 p.a. is comprised of:
- An annual salary between $125,808 - $138,571 p.a. (L4 – L7)
- An annual salary between $125,808 - $145,865 p.a. (L4 – L9)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
