About Your New Role
As the Principal Assurance Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening governance across one of Queensland's largest health services. This position offers direct exposure to Executive Leadership and Audit and Risk Committee processes, providing a unique opportunity to influence decision-making. You will work across a diverse audit portfolio spanning financial, operational and governance domains where you will:
- Plan, lead and deliver complex internal audits and reviews across financial, operational, compliance and governance domains
- Provide independent, professional advice to the Audit and Risk Committee
- Contribute to the development and delivery of risk-based Strategic and Annual Internal Audit Plans
- Assess and provide assurance on governance, risk management and internal control processes
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
While not mandatory, the following would be well regarded:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, business, health management or related discipline
- Professional certification (CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent) or actively working toward certification
- Demonstrated experience in internal audit, risk management, advisory or governance roles within a complex and regulated environment
- Strong analytical, report writing and stakeholder engagement capability
- Ability to operate independently while building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $140 115 - $150 371 per annum
About Us
The Corporate Affairs Division at Gold Coast Health is responsible for the delivery of strategic communications (internal and external), corporate governance, and legal services that align with contemporary governance and legal practice standards.
Assurance and Advisory Services (Internal Audit) operates within the Division as an independent assurance function. The unit provides risk-based internal audit services to the Chief Executive, Executive and Audit and Risk Committee, contributing to effective governance, risk management and internal control across the organisation.
