Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $87.25 to $131.61 p.h. (L13-L27)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (35% base salary)
  • Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
  • Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave
  • Inaccessibility allowance of $13,800 p.a. 
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity:

The role of the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

Lead and manage the provision of medical services in accordance with the standard of the speciality, the ethics of the profession and in accordance with the THHS and Queensland Health (QH) policies, in a hospital, community and outreach setting.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (if applicable).
  • All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the THHS Credentialling and SoCP committee.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
